Testimonials
"The Spanish Institute of Honduras is the perfect place to learn Spanish. Attending classes is both a challenge and a blessing. The staff, teachers and fellow students are welcoming and helpful and make the transition to a new culture a pleasant experience. We came knowing only a few words and phrases in Spanish and the teachers have patiently taught us much more. Having classes with one-on-one teaching has allowed us to progress at our own pace with no pressure and lots of encouragement. The staff are available to answer questions and assist with many of the "unknowns" of living in a different place. We feel learning the language is an essential part of working in and experiencing a Spanish speaking country and there is no better place to learn than in the country with Spanish speaking teachers whose hearts are to help you learn so you can spread the good news of Christ or successfully accomplish whatever your goal may be."

I try not to throw around recommendations lightly. Recommendations lose their strength if they are not sincere or earned. This school has my respect. I sincerely hope that Mission Board Leaders will not send their missionary candidates blindly to an institution for language learning because it is what they heard everyone else in their association is doing. I hope they are keenly aware of the philosophy of education is being taught at the school. At the SIH, the 1 on 1 approach to learning is UNMATCHED. I have been in 4 different arenas of Spanish Education and this BY FAR has exceeded my expectations. I will not belittle another school to make this school look better because it is not needed. The school can hold its own in every area of equipping students in the Spanish Language. I have two regrets: I wish I had found them sooner. & I wish had more time there.
The motto is: “Come as Friends and Leave as Family” and I would have to say…Mission Accomplished.

"This is a fantastic school with a wonderful staff! It is very well organized and effectively managed by the Wolfe family. The teachers are all terrific and become not only instructors but dear friends as well. The one-on-one, teacher to student system is the best way to learn a language. I would recommend this school to anyone desiring to learn Spanish. Do not go anywhere else!"
Anthony Miele, Missionary Doctor
"I’m so glad I stumbled upon this school when looking for a place to learn Spanish. The teachers made it clear how much they cared about me and my learning, and were very creative to find ways to keep the classes interesting and practical. I learned a ton about the Honduran culture as well and was very fortunate to have the opportunity to live with an amazing family in Siguatepeque. Mark (Administrator) was always available and had such a wealth of knowledge on the ins and outs of Honduras and learning Spanish. The entire Wolfe family made me feel like I was a part of their family. I will forever cherish the time I spent here."

"The Spanish Institute of Honduras is an excellent language school. My beginning knowledge of Spanish was no more than “hola.” After 4 months total, thanks to the hard work of my excellent teachers, I left at the level of intermediate high. The community is supportive, the environment is well-suited for accelerated learning, and the owners/administrators are kind, and watchful. Teachers tailor the classes to your learning style and needs, in an encouraging, fun-loving atmosphere. I highly recommend this school."

"World Gospel Outreach (WGO) has been using the Spanish Institute for more than 3 years now. The caliber of language training our missionaries receive has better allowed them to adapt and live well in Honduras. In some of our missionary's cases, The Institute has been able to house them in an inclusion scenario that better prepares them for their life in Honduras. Having personalized attention from an organizational position has assured the safety, knowledge, and experience that our missionaries will gain while participating with the Spanish Institute. of Honduras."
Mac Youngblood, Director of Human Resources at World Gospel Outreach
"Attending this school is like receiving a family alongside the great education. Loving. experienced teachers, and owners that are involved and care about each student. I have been blessed to attended the Spanish Institute several different blocks of time and I wouldn't trade this school and the blessing it has been for ANY other school here in Honduras!
Holly Tompkins, Nurse of Children's Center and Serve Team Assistant
"The Spanish Institute of Honduras was exactly what we needed! Talented teachers that provided measurable and structured learning but in an environment that felt comfortable and supportive. It’s so much more than just learning a language, it’s learning about people and a culture and the way they think."
Don & Debbie Lynn, Missionaries in Honduras
"We owe so much of the “success” we’ve had in our ministry and as a family to our time at The Institute. I can’t begin to explain how thankful we are for our teachers, their patience, and the way they dove in and went above and beyond. Knowing that we would take in children from the streets, our teachers specialized in vocabulary and language styles that we would encounter. The community at The Institute (teachers, staff, and students) embraced us and helped us transition to a new culture and go through culture shock, overcome so many obstacles, grow in Christ, and learn to disciple others in a new language. We cannot say enough how grateful we are and how highly we recommend this amazing learning environment."
Alishia & Christopher Weeks, Missionaries in Honduras
"The time we spent at the school provided us more than a great environment for learning the language and culture. It also served as a great spot for a needed time of transition as we adapted to life in a new country, and a great point of connection as we became part of the extended family of students and faculty throughout our time in Siguatepeque and even today. Our time in language school was vital to laying the groundwork for our ministry here in Honduras."

I moved to Honduras to work with a missions organization and language school was the first step. As I began learning the language and culture, I quickly realized this was the most vital step in the journey of connecting with the girls I worked with. I believe that without communication there cannot be the deep connection, friendship, and thus influence. Learning a new language is challenging for sure, but the process was made to be engaging, enjoyable, and rewarding. The teachers truly invest not only their time and effort, but also their lives into you as a student. It's not just students, teachers, and staff; it's a family.

“My wife and I recently spent two weeks out of our busy schedule to take instruction at the Spanish Institute of Honduras. While a longer commitment to the program is more effective for language instruction and mastery, even this two-week session was fantastic and it allowed us to greatly improve our Spanish skills in such a short period of time. The Institute’s method of combining structured instruction and “free-form” conversation practice with their skilled instructors, while living in the bucolic city of Siguatepeque, is an effective method for rapidly preparing students to converse in Spanish and to understand Latin American culture with greater skill and confidence. We look forward to attending the Institute for more instruction in the future, hopefully for a longer period!”

"Our time at The Institute was one of the best investments we have made. Not only were we given quality instruction but we learned Honduran culture and were cared for like family."

"One of the highlights of my week is my Spanish class at the Spanish Institute of Honduras every weekend. My lessons have enabled me to not only work here but also to enjoy Honduras with its beautiful people and culture! Love, laughter, and learning are a part of every lesson in a beautiful setting with the most excellent instructors!! The experience is truly a special gift from God!"

"My degree is in Spanish but I never spoke in my college classes. After spending a month with y'all, I became very confident while speaking. My teacher was great! I would recommend your school to anyone. There are wonderful teachers and it's located in a little, safe town."
Amanda Hunt, English Teacher
"My husband and I, along with our 2 teenage kids, arrived in Honduras, still grieving the loss of our home country and comfort zone. We began language school almost immediately. We were quickly able to see God's goodness as we were taken under the wings of our teachers and fellow missionaries. After 3 months of classes, we felt much more confident and prepared to begin the work God called us to do here in Honduras."
Shelly & Arthur Cadmus, Missionaries
"Language school was one of the biggest blessings during my trip. I loved that the teachers take time to get to know their students and that it feels more like a friendship rather than an in-the-classroom-boring-learning. It is refreshing to be able to learn Spanish in whatever way is best for the individual; the teachers really work to find out what is the best way for you to learn. My Spanish improved so much through this school. It also was great to be able to discuss how to share the Gospel in Spanish and be able to read bible stories and discuss them in Spanish because that prepared me for what I was going to do in La Ceiba. Overall the people, town, and school in Siguatepeque is one of my favorite memories of the trip."

"I did not speak any Spanish upon arrival to the school. After attending for one month, though not fluent, I could speak enough Spanish to function in a public setting. My teacher was not only an awesome teacher but has become a close friend whom I visit at her home on a regular basis. Would recommend the school to anyone and the town is indeed clean, safe and quaint."
